Informal text
I got there and it was FREEEZING. Which made me even more grateful that so many people came out to Holt Renfrew to hang with me. Its important to me to do these instores because it gives me a chance to come face to face with everyone that has supported my dreams and get to thank them personally.
So thanks Montreal for giving me such a freezing - I mean warm welcome.
See you again soon!

Formal text
To avoid this calamity, the American people-- who were already struggling in their own right--were forced to rescue financial firms facing crisis largely of their own creation. And that rescue, undertaken by the previous administration, was deeply offensive but it was a necessary thing to do, and it succeded in stabilizing the financial system and helping to avert that depression.

Reflections
I think that the differences between these two texts are pretty clear. I think that you clearly can see that the formal text is more correct written than the informal one and also the use of vocabuary. In the informal text you can see that the author is not that concered about a correct vocabulary wich is common in blogs. You can also see that the informal text is more written as a every day speech. An informal lanuage is also used in emails and letter to friends. A formal lanuage is used in business letters, contracts, academis textbooks and so on.

Good examples of formal/informal types of writing!
SvaraRadera"more correctly written" (or "more correct")
"... and also the use of vocabulary differs."
"not that concered about a correct vocabulary WHICH is common in blogs" sounds as though blogs typically/commonly feature correct vocabulary. You need to rephrase: "not that concered about a correct vocabulary, and this tendency to use simpler words is common in blogs." (or something)
"... is written more like everyday speech."
"Informal language is also used... Formal language is used in... academic textbooks..."
Well done!
